Gymnastics Mississauga is very proud to have 3 National Team athletes representing Canada at the Masillia Cup in Marseille, France.
The three athletes below, Rochelle Hurt, Anna Gamelo and Caitlyn Keates will be traveling to France on Friday November 14th with Coach Lisa Cowan for a joint training camp with 6 other members of the Canadian National Team and various members of the French National Team. At the conclusion of the international training camp, Canada will have 9 athletes compete at the Masillia Cup which runs from November 21st to the 23rd. As we enter the next quadrennial cycle, this group of athletes are some of the Olympic hopefuls. Their future begins with this competition as they set out on the long road to secure a spot on the 2012 Olympic Team in London, England. More at Mississauga News and Toronto Sun clip 13Nov08

National/Provincial Coach Gymnastics Mississauga is actively seeking a Provincial/National Coach to join our Women’s Artistic Gymnastics coaching staff. Applicant must possess the following qualifications:
Fully Certified NCCP level 3 in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics
NCCP level 2 trampoline
Clear understanding of Ontario Competitive Program (OCP)
Clear understanding of current FIG code of points
Ability to work in a team coaching environment
Enthusiastic and outgoing
Proficiency with spotting high level skills on each apparatus including trampoline
Risk management part A and B
Standard First Aid / CPR (or willing to obtain)

Lisa Cowan (Gymnastics Mississauga Women's Coach) was recognized for 10 plus years of volunteer service to Gymnastics Ontario at the Gymnastics Ontario 2008 Banquet.
The award was called The Ontario Recognition Award. Her services included - Women Program Committee member, Creating and Implementing the Rising Stars Program and Playing an integral role in creating the Gymfit Challenge Program.
