COMPETITIVE BURSARY SUPPORT PROGRAM

Gymnastics Mississauga is proud to announce the Competitive Bursary Support Program. A specialized initiative to support our top athletes in reaching their highest potential on the national and international stages, the Club will provide training at Gymnastics Mississauga free of charge, whilst also covering the costs of competitions, insurance, and tuition assistance at an approved Ontario post-secondary institution, and subject to the below terms and conditions. This program is designed to encourage and retain elite talent within Canada, helping gymnasts achieve their goals, while fostering national pride and commitment to excellence.

Program Requirements

To qualify for this bursary, athletes must:

• Be a member of Gymnastics Mississauga for a minimum of 2 years
• Be an official member of the Gymnastics Canada Junior or Senior Team

Program Details

The bursary will be available to athletes as long as they remain on the Canadian Junior or Senior Team, and subject to the Club’s financial wherewithal.

1. Junior Canadian Team Members:
   • Gymnastics Mississauga will cover training fees, competition fees, and Gymnastics Ontario (GO) fees up to a maximum amount $10,000
   • Financial support for participation in international competitions may also be provided subject to the Club’s discretion
2. Senior Canadian Team Members:
   • Gymnastics Mississauga will cover training fees, competition fees, and GO fees
   • Financial support for participation in international competitions may also be provided subject to the Club’s discretion
   • Gymnastics Mississauga will assist with university tuition, up to a maximum of $20,0000 per year, subject to the Club’s financial wherewithal and the below:
   • Must be registered in at least ¾ full course load
   • Maintain at least a B+ in all courses
   • Must be recognized university and/or college located in Ontario

Termination of Bursary

The bursary will automatically cease if:

• The athlete is no longer a member of the Canadian Junior or Senior Team
• The athlete is no longer a member of Gymnastics Mississauga
• The Club’s finances are no longer able to support the bursary, as determined in their sole discretion
