EXTRAORDINARY GYMNASTS
COMMUNITY SUPPORT BURSARY
We are excited to introduce the Gymnastics Mississauga Community Support Bursary Program. Designed to support children from low-income families and children with permanent disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), the Club will provide up to 3 months of free participation, per child, in our recreational program and/or private lessons subject to the below terms and conditions. This initiative reflects the Club’s commitment to making gymnastics accessible to everyone in our community, helping foster confidence, physical health, and joy in young lives.
Ontario Human Rights Code Statement: The Club adheres to, respects and diligently enforces the Ontario Human Rights Code. This Application is designed and intended to comply with the Code and to reasonably balance individual privacy whilst ensuring the bursary benefits those who come from low-income families and/or those with permanent disabilities. Program Details:
1. Eligibility:
- Available to children between the ages of 4 – 19 years old from low-income families or children with permanent disability
- Applicants must provide proof of financial need and/or permanent disability status
2. Program Benefits:
- Recreational Program Access:
- Eligible children will receive three (3) months of free participation in our recreational gymnastics program and/or up to (12) private lessons per month subject to coach availability
- Low-income children will be placed in regular gymnastics classes
- Special needs children will receive one-on-one coaching, with a focus on individual needs and goals
- Parent/guardian participation is required for children with special needs during the classes to ensure a supportive environment.
- Eligible children will receive three (3) months of free participation in our recreational gymnastics program and/or up to (12) private lessons per month subject to coach availability
- Transportation Assistance:
- Each participating child will receive a transportation pass, along with an accompanying adult pass (for the low income participants only)
3. Program Capacity:
- The program will be limited to 10 children through June 2025, with availability to be adjusted based on the Club’s financial wherewithal

You may be contacted for further information reasonably required to explore whether the Club is able to provide the Athlete with private lessons. To that end, our coaches will work in consultation with the Athlete and/or guardian and/or their health care professionals and endeavour to design a specialized program that responds to the individual needs of the Athlete.
Our focus will be on introducing, guiding, and stimulating exploration of physical movement in a safe and supportive environment, therein providing children with an opportunity to enjoy the sport in a welcoming and supportive environment.
